Alienware area 51 motherboard issue

I am planning on buying the alienware area 51 but the thing which is currently puttingme off is that you cant replace the motherboard, when newer proccesors come out such as the ivy bridge. Is there an way of replacing motherboard or would dell sell us upgraded motherboards for normal price for people with existing area 51.

Nevathan,

I cannot speak to future CPUs that might come out. All I can speak to is the current CPUs we have validated on this model.
XVN0Y I7-980X, 4.00GHz, 12MB (Overclocked)
F3VGJ i7-980X, 3.33GHz, 12MB, B1
60GFP I7-975, 3.33GHZ, 8MB, C0
152W9 I7-970, 3.20GHz, 12MB
MNWGW I7-960, 3.20GHz, 8MB, D0
0DX14 I7-950, 3.06GHz, 8MB, D0
YNCMX I7-930, 2,80GHz, 8MB, C0
VRDMW I7-930, 2.80GHz, 8MB
1GKT0 I7-920, 2.66GHz, 8MB, D0

As far as 3rd party motherboards, we are not going to validate them so make sure you can return them to the seller if they do not fit in our chassis. I can say that I doubt our OEM (original equipment manufacturer) Alienware hardware will work with them.
